This Privacy Policy describes how Shopify Expert ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your Personal Information when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

1. Information We Collect

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:

  • Shop Information: Shop name, email, domain, and settings to identify your account.
  • Order Data: Order details, transaction amounts, shipping costs, and tax lines to calculate revenue and gross profit.
  • Product Data: Product titles, variants, and inventory levels to match costs (COGS) with sales.
  • Customer Data: Minimal customer information associated with orders (e.g., location) strictly for tax and shipping calculations. We do not use customer personal data for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Ad Platform Data

To provide accurate profit analysis, the App integrates with third-party advertising platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads). If you choose to connect these accounts, we collect:

  • Ad Spend Data: Campaign names, ad set IDs, and daily spend amounts.
  • Performance Metrics: Impressions, clicks, and conversions (ROAS data).

Note: We only access read-only data required for reporting. We do not have permission to create, edit, or delete your ad campaigns.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Profit Calculation: To calculate your Net Profit by deducting COGS, shipping, taxes, transaction fees, and ad spend from your Gross Revenue.
  • Dashboard Reporting: To display real-time analytics, charts, and key performance indicators (KPIs) like AOV, ROAS, and Break-even ROAS.
  • App Functionality: To provide the core services of the App, including data synchronization and settings management.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may employ third-party companies (e.g., cloud hosting providers) to facilitate our App's operation. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your Personal Information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

4. Platform Specific Disclosures

Shopify

Our App is built for the Shopify platform and adheres to Shopify’s API Terms of Use. Your data is processed securely and is used solely to enhance your merchant experience on Shopify.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Shopify Expert's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Meta (Facebook) Platform Terms

We access Meta Ads data in compliance with Meta's Platform Terms. We do not use this data for surveillance or building profiles for eligibility purposes.

TikTok for Business

Data retrieved from TikTok Ads is used strictly for reporting ad spend and calculating ROAS within your profit dashboard.

5. Data Retention

We retain your Personal Information and store data only for as long as necessary to provide the App services to you. If you uninstall the App, we will delete your stored shop data within 48 hours, although some aggregated or anonymized data may be retained for analytical purposes or legal compliance.

6. Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us. We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) when transmitting data and store data on secure servers. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
